Purpose: This article describes how to change preferences for who receives notifications about your eFiled cases, and information about how the notification settings work.
Applicable Users: eFilers
Changing notifications
- Log into the Circuit Court eFiling website: https://efiling.wicourts.gov/
- Hover over your name in the top-right of the screen.
- Select preferences from the menu that appears.
How the notification settings work
- When Primary user email notifications is set to On, notifications are available on the notifications page of the eFiling website AND are sent to your eCourts account email address.
- When Primary user email notifications is set to Off, notifications are available ONLY on the notifications page of the eFiling website. They are NOT sent to your eCourts account email address.
- Email address listed in the CC email notification section are copied on your eFiling notifications.
- If you are a private practice attorney, you can include a single CC email address in the CC email notifications section. The email address here will be copied on all your eFiling notifications.
- If you are a member of Corporation Counsel (or government another agency), you can add a number of CC email addresses to the CC email notifications section. The email address(es) here will be copied on all eFiling notifications related to the specified agency.
Note: After adding their email address, the CC'd user must log into the main eFiling account to view the documents linked in CC email notifications. This process ensures confidentiality of case documents. - If you have delegated full account access to another user (see Granting delegation access to a paralegal and Granting delegation access to local government staff) and the user's email address is listed in the CC email notifications field on an attorney's User Preferences page, the user may receive duplicate email notifications. To avoid this situation, remove the email address for the user from 'CC email notifications' once delegation access is established.
- If you are a private practice attorney, you can include a single CC email address in the CC email notifications section. The email address here will be copied on all your eFiling notifications.
