Purpose: Bar admissions applicant eCourts accounts can be converted to Wisconsin attorney accounts once admission to the bar occurs. This article describes how to convert your admissions eCourts account.
Applicable Users: Newly admitted bar members with Wisconsin bar admissions applicant accounts
- Visit the eFiling website: http://efiling.wicourts.gov.
- Select the Update account information link.
- Enter your eCourts username and select [Continue].
- Enter your eCourts password and select [Login].
Note: Select the checkbox to the left of 'Remember me...' if you are on a trusted device and wish to bypass entry of a one-time passcode for subsequent log-ins from this device for the next 7 days. - Select your preferred option from the One-time code destination list to send a one-time verification code. Then, select [Send].

Retrieve the one-time verification code received at the email address or mobile number selected previously.
- Enter the one-time code and select [Verify].
- You are redirected to the Update account information page. Select the Convert to Wisconsin Attorney account link.
- Enter your Bar ID, primary mailing address, and other contact information. Address line 1, Postal code, City, and State fields are required. Select [Save].
- The Update account information page displays confirming your account user type is now Wisconsin attorney.
- Several account change options are available on the Update account information page that can be used to update your account, when applicable.
- Select [Edit] in the User information section to change name, signature, primary email address, and account recovery options, as needed.
- Select [Add address] in the Addresses section to add another mailing address specific to certain counties. Select [Edit] to update your primary address and [Remove] to remove your primary address.
- Select Update username to edit your eCourts account username or Update password to set a new password.
- Select [Edit] in the User information section to change name, signature, primary email address, and account recovery options, as needed.
