Purpose: A filing agent eCourts account can be created to electronically file small claims cases on behalf of a business or corporation. Although your account should be registered under your name, you can list the business you represent as the plaintiff or defendant when filing your case. This article describes how to create a filing agent eCourts account.
Applicable Users: Filing agents
- Visit the eFiling website: http://efiling.wicourts.gov.
- Select the Create an account link.
- Select the Filing agent user type. Then, select [Next].
- Complete the required fields (displayed in bold). When your name prints on court forms, it will appear exactly as it is entered in the First name, Last name, and Middle name or initial fields. When you are finished, select [Next].
- Enter an email address or mobile phone number (or both) to send account information to in the event you need to recover your user name or password and you no longer have access to your primary email address. To proceed, select [Next].
- Enter your primary mailing address and phone number. When finished, select [Next].
- To enable independent recovery of your account in the future, you must select and answer three security questions. Choose from the available options and select [Next].
- Provide answers to the security questions selected. Responses are not case-sensitive. To complete eCourts account setup, select [Create account].
- Upon successful account creation, the eCourts system sends a confirmation email to the email address entered during the registration process. This email contains your user name and PIN. Save or record this information for future use.
- To activate your eCourts account, either:
- Select the eCourts link provided in the New user registration email.
- Or, if the confirmation page is still open from the registration process, select the activate your account link on that page.
- Select the eCourts link provided in the New user registration email.
- Enter your User name and Password, then select [Log in].
- Enter the PIN provided in the confirmation email, and select [Continue].
- You are then redirected to a page confirming account activation. You may now use the eFiling system.
