Purpose: If you encounter an error message indicating that your document contains invalid sized pages that exceed the maximum size of 12"x18", you'll need to resize the document. Resizing, or scaling, shrinks the content of each page to fit within the required dimensions. The simplest way to resize a PDF is by using the "Print to PDF" feature available in Adobe Acrobat or Google Chrome.
Note: This process also flattens the PDF, which removes form content and can help reduce the file size.

Adobe Acrobat
- In Adobe Acrobat, open the PDF you need to resize.
- Select File > Print.
- Select the Printer dropdown and choose any option that has PDF in the title. Under the Page Sizing & Handling section, select the Fit option. This ensures that oversized pages are shrunk to fit the standard paper size. Select the [Print] button.
- Choose a location to save your new PDF and enter a new file name to differentiate it from your original version. Select the [Save] button.
- You will now be able to upload your newly saved PDF to the eFiling website.
Google Chrome
- Open a Google Chrome browser window and drag your PDF file into it. The PDF file will open in Chrome.
- Select the Print icon in Chrome’s PDF viewer. Alternatively, you can select Ctrl + P.
- Ensure the Destination is set to Save as PDF.
- Select More settings to expand the options.
- Find the Scale setting and ensure it is set to Fit to printable area or Fit to paper. This will automatically resize any oversized pages. Select the [Print] button.
- Select a destination and enter a new file name in the window that opens and then select [Save].
- You will now be able to upload your newly saved PDF to the eFiling website.
