Purpose: Wisconsin Court System Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Access, or WSCCA, allows attorneys, court staff and the general public to search public documents that have been scanned or electronically filed.
Applicable Users: Attorneys, court staff, and the general public.
Document Search
- From the main menu, navigate to Search > Document search.
Note: This search returns publicly available documents associated with Court of Appeals and Supreme Court cases. Such documents can include briefs, no merit briefs, and petitions for review. - On the Document search page, enter information in at least one of the following fields:
- Case number: Enter the appellate case number.
- District: Select the district where the appeal was filed.
- Document title: Enter the full or partial title of the document.

Document text: Search for words or phrases within the content of text-searchable documents.
- To search for an exact phrase, enclose the words in quotation marks (e.g., "boat house"). The search returns only documents containing that exact phrase.
- To search for multiple words, enter the words without quotation marks (e.g., boat house). The search returns documents that contain all the specified words, regardless of their order.
- Filing date: Enter a specific date or a date range when the document was filed.
- Select the [Search] button to view the results.
- From the search results list:
- Select a Document title link to open and view the document.
- Select an Appeal number link to open the case details.
