Circuit court eFiling - Granting delegation access to a paralegal or legal assistant

    • Purpose: eFiling delegation allows attorneys to grant access to paralegals and legal assistants to file cases and documents with the circuit courts on their behalf.  Attorneys that belong to government agencies other than corporation counsel can delegate access to eCourts users with a paralegal or legal secretary user account.   

    Applicable Users: Attorneys

    1. Visit the eFiling website at https://efiling.wicourts.gov/ and log in. For more information, see the article Logging into Wisconsin circuit court eFiling.
    2. Hover over your name in the top-right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu, select delegations.

    3. On the Delegations page, select [Create].

    4. Enter the email address associated with the paralegal or legal secretary staff member’s eCourts account. Then, select [Find].

    5. The matching user’s name displays in order to verify that the correct email address has been entered. Select the type of access the user should have to the attorney's account:
      • File preparation allows the user to prepare new filings for the attorney to then submit.
      • Full account access allows the user to perform the same actions as an attorney.

    6. Select [Save] to grant the delegation access.

    7. Delegated users are featured on the Delegations page. To revoke access, select Delete in the Actions column next to the user's name.

      Note: If the paralegal user's email address is listed in the CC email notifications field on an attorney's User Preferences page, setting up full account access may lead to the user receiving duplicate email notifications. To avoid this situation, remove the email address for the paralegal from CC email notifications once delegation access is established.
